Book One of The Trail of Magic
Jeremus Gandy lives a lonely existence at The Edge of Augermore, told by his mother that the rest of the kingdom was destroyed long ago. She keeps them alive and safe with the use of Magic, assuring Jeremus that he's lucky to have no Magical ability of his own. He disagrees.
When a mysterious stranger arrives, Jeremus learns the kingdom still exists but was thrown into chaos years earlier by the release of dangerous Magic from a powerful Book. That Book, it just so happens, is located in a trunk within his mother's hut.
After the stranger curses Jeremus's mother, it's up to Jeremus to save her life - and save Augermore - by traveling across the kingdom to collect and return Magic to the Book.
Augermore is filled with treacherous lands and power-hungry races made more threatening by the Magic unleashed within them. Will Jeremus follow his mother's advice to remain safely at The Edge? Or is he ready to follow the Trail of Magic?
Book Two of The Trail of Magic
The Trail of Magic continues...
As Jeremus Gandy emerges from the Desert of Despair, he sees a field of green and thinks the hardest part of his journey is over. He's wrong, even if he doesn't know it yet.
Free from his captors and with the Book of Magic secured, Jeremus is guided by a map of Augermore and an invisible hand pulling him toward the next Magic he must collect. But he soon learns that his future will be defined by a past he never knew about, and that his role in saving his mother was destined long before he was born.
From the wild jungles of the Wilderynth, to the dangerous streets of Blackford, to the Barbarian Forest - haunted by more than just a race of giants - Jeremus discovers more types of Magic and the dangers they've brought to the kingdom. With the help of Samira and other friends he meets along the way, he ignores the risks and races into trouble, all in the hopes of filling the Book and rescuing his mother.
But will the Book weigh him down as he seeks one dangerous type of Magic after another? Or will the burden of learning who he truly is prevent him from continuing his journey?
Book Three of The Trail of Magic
Danger lurks along The Trail of Magic...
As Jeremus Gandy comes to grips with a shocking revelation about his family history, he and his friends approach the largest, most dangerous obstacle in all of Augermore.
With the Book now heavier with Magic, Jeremus struggles with the choices he's constantly left to make. Is it most important to collect Magic and save his mother? Is it most important to protect his friends? Though he tries to help the kingdom by Removing Magic, is he actually making things worse? He's constantly plagued by these worries, especially as every attempt to help leads to potential disaster.
Jeremus must navigate perilous mountain passes, pirate-infested rivers, boulder-filled swamps, and a whole other world where his own powers offer little help. Every Magic he collects puts him in more danger, and every obstacle he must overcome threatens the lives of those who follow him.
But his journey to fill the Book is no longer the only journey taking place. As word of the Book's power spreads, other forces begin to mount. The Lords of Augermore know that control of Magic means control of the kingdom, and Jeremus soon finds himself the target of several unexpected foes.
Will he be able to keep his friends safe while collecting Magic? Or will the Trail of Magic force him to choose between the two?
Book Four of The Trail of Magic
Peril floats above the Trail of Magic...
As Jeremus Gandy finds shelter within the high walls of the Southern Swamp, he's forced to deal with the loss of friends and figure out who can be trusted and who cannot.
Inside the walls is a village unlike any he's ever seen, created by a trio of brothers unlike any he's ever met. The Marvelous Monzo Brothers appear to have created a utopia with their Magic of the Arts, but what lengths will they go to protect their home when the king's army attacks? Will Jeremus and his companions be treated as allies in the fight, or will they be treated as enemies?
The walled village isn't the only place they travel that's been affected by Magic. As enemies continue their pursuit of Jeremus and the Book - with the threat of mortal danger constantly closing in - the travelers encounter a land among the clouds. The Floating Lands are filled with Magic in people and land alike, and Removing those sources of Magic threatens Jeremus, his friends, and countless innocent lives.
Jeremus learns more about the past, more about his parents, and more about how the families of his mother and father shaped the Kingdom of Augermore into the chaotic mess it's become. But will this knowledge make Jeremus's own decisions easier or harder to make?
As he races to cross the kingdom and finish filling the Book, Jeremus faces one impossible choice after another, each new type of Magic more difficult to handle than the last. Will Augermore's most powerful armies finally capture him and the Book? Will he keep his remaining friends safe? And can he trust those traveling with him... or will he face the ultimate betrayal from the person that should be his closest ally?
